Hi,

We are currently editing off two Maxx Digital 48TB RAID's. These are in RAID 6 configuration. What is a good configuration for backing up raw files and projects for short term and long term storage?

Here is what I was thinking:

Edit off Maxx RAIDs > Back up nightly to 148 TB server > Back up weekly to LTO-7

Is this the standard process to back up footage in the short and long term? This is kind of new territory for me. I've always backed up to external drives, but my projects are now 40-50 TB's each and I need a more ideal short term and long term storage solution. This is the LTO-7 rack I'm considering: http://www.mlogic.com/products/mrack-lto-7

I know that many of you have already been done this road, so thanks for any input you can provide.

Thanks,

Jeremy

If your projects are 40-50TB and backing up weekly to LTO7, it's going to take you quite a while with just a dual LTO7 drive rack. You can use YoYotta ID LTFS software with a MagStor LTO7 thunderbolt connected tape library to automate your LTFS LTO7 archives.
