  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Berkey System (Red Accessories)

I wonder if they manufacture this stuff themselves...I have this exact same handle but from a different distributor: http://www.berkeysystem.com/store/red-accessories/nato-safetyrail-4-5-inch-w2-inch-rise-handle-mount-and-handgrip/
but it cost me less than 1/2 of what they are charging on their website.

its basically the exact same gear cinecity offers, just more expensive.

same with this top plate: http://www.berkeysystem.com/store/red-accessories/top-plate-for-red-scarlet-and-epic/

these pieces look exactly like the stuff from http://www.thecinecity.com/eshop/home.php just a bit more expensive.

here is the shoulder rig that comes including the top plate, the handle and the bottom plate...and the items are virtually identical: http://www.thecinecity.com/eshop/CAMTREE-Hunt-19mm-Shoulder-Rig-For-Red-One-CH-RO19.html

Berkey's gear is terrific, and Brian is a pleasure to deal with - I've come to him with several camera support concepts (built out of his components) and he's made me personalised videos to show exactly how the different configurations would work - you won't get that level of service at many other places!

As for quality, a simple hands-on will tell you the quality difference between Brian's gear and cheaper stuff out of China. Obviously there's a limit to the difference you'll see between simple things like rods, but for more complex components the quality of the aluminium and the machining does make a difference.

What I've found most useful with the Berkey System's kit, is that it's all universal - so you can mix and match components to create your own solutions.

Nice Shoulder PAD with reasonable price
