  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Here's a very quick (less than 24 hour turnaround piece) for one of our family friends who wanted to create a video since November is Adoption Awareness Month. I just suggested to follow the family around for a day and do a simple interview. So essentially had to craft the story in post.

Also, it was a freebie, so couldn't enlist the help of my resources...thus making this a one-man-band video. Thank goodness I had the helium...otherwise this wouldn't have been doable. Enjoy!

Shot all handheld in 6k WS ( since I'm in the middle of some other edits and I haven't updated FCPX for 8K support) in RWG, RC4. Used Vintage Lomo glass. Did a lightning fast grade with Color Finale.

Let it be known...I have like zero audio gear...besides a Zoom H1 and a Rode Lav mic...which means...no real way to monitor audio...yea...i know..sucks. Halfway through the guy's interview, his mic fell, unbeknownst to he and I. Yup..I'd fire myself too..haha snap, crackle, pop!

Just goes to show it takes a team to make magic, but maybe this piece was at least a little magical!

Hard to believe its one-man job. Its just awesome. So much love the outdoor scenes, don't know if its the helium sensor magic or your grading skills, perhaps its both. Certainly an awesome job!!!

What an awesome job. I hope it's seen by many. Great message. Very nice work.

Thanks so much! Only used practical lights..nothing added. For the outdoor scene, it was just going to be the family of 4 back in the house, but I saw the outdoor lights and suggested that they do dinner outside since most of the piece was shot in less than 700sqft of space. Her brother lived next door, so we tried to makeshift the famous parenthood around the table scene...haha.

Again, many thanks!

Send it to Jannard.

haha...he's busy enough with his latest invention. Maybe he'll see it here.

Very classy. Good job.

Thanks sir!

Thanks Matt. I hope it's seen by many too!

Nice job Chris. We adopted our daughter too. Amazing experience. Quick question, as a one man show on this, who was the interviewer?

Oh very cool Bob! I was asking the questions, but had them looking at each other (husband and wife) when answering them. hehe

This film is fantastic. Great work Chris.
