TGR just posted part 2 of the behind the scenes video of the latest 3D TGR movie I worked on with stereographer Jason Goodman of 21st century 3D.

Had just an amazing time flying around and working with everyone. Haven't seen the footage yet in all it's glory so I can't wait to watch it tonight.

The LA premiere of "Lite the Wick" (which includes the 3D segment) will be playing tonight in real D projection .....

December 8 at the Rave 18 theatres in Los Angeles. The bar will be open at 7:00, show starts at 8:00.

Tickets are available now at www.tgrtix.com/tickets/ltw. Everyone in attendance will get a 2 for 1 voucher to Mammoth Mountain.

AMAZING! thanks for posting this is real awsome to see comming from a snowwy background myself. TGR at the highest end....yeeehaaa.

I watched the premiere that night....I have to say some of the shots had me saying wow.....very cool stuff. Great work by everyone.

Well with the tyler mid mount we limited to 6" the whole time. Months after this shoot I did 2 more days of helicopter shooting for a upcoming 3D feature and we had a Tyler major mount. This allowed for us to vary the IO from 6-12".

The trick is working with the Pilot and the talent/object and finding the right angles, approaches, patterns to maximize the effect with whatever stereobase you are using.

With 6" of IO you really have to get danger close to talent/objects (in a helicopter) to get something that works well.

I have seen helicopter nose mounts with up to 2' of IO....I'm sure you could rig even larger IO if the cameras are fixed and do not need to be operated.

also as always in 3D....just go out and shoot it! see what happens ; )
