Too bad...I think there will be some repeats soon. Will post the dates here as soon as I know them.

Hi Frank,

Great to see that your project turned out so well. Nice photos!

Haven't been at home this night. A pitty.

Hans

Hi Hans,

thanks !

Hope I can show you some footage personally soon. We´re thinking of making a BlueRay for internal use, too.

Planned to call you about some Cineform issues next week anyway...

Amazing stuff. You just reminded me why I'm still waiting for my Scarlet

Awesome images.

Were they graded? In Color?
Hi Pietro,

thank you !

Actually, we didn´t use Color for grading, because Color doesn´t work with Cineform files so far. We graded everything with FCP6 using the usual tools there. Worked great !

Very subtle and beautiful grading.

Can you say more about the choice of using Cineform 4:2:2 to work with the footage?

We decided to go the Cineform way after intense testing of different codecs to work with. It turned out to be the best choice in terms of handling and quality. Furthermore, the production was always planned to go to 1080p HDCam as the final master for broadcasting, so 4:2:2 was the choice here, although Cineform also offers 4:4:4.

Generally, Cineform simply offers you something very decent to work with. There is no hassle with proxies or metadata. It simply pulls the best out of the raw files and gives you much to work with in the grading process.

I recently graded some stills from a 5D (MKI),and I was amazed by the different looks I could achieve just from one frame. I suppose it just shows that when it comes to grading the most important thing is the DR and bit-depth of the image (if it is properly exposed).

I was surprised to see how much is possible with the standard FCP grading tools. We were actually planning to do the grading on a Speedgrade system, but due to scheduling problems we had to do it right here on our own editing system. Ended up wit a pretty good graded film !

Hi guys,

ARTE has shut down the free video links I posted here. They only offer the films for a certain time and after that they are only available online for money.

We will post a short clip in a decent quality as soon as we can.
