BBC has been pretty slow to hop on the Red train, at least in my limited experience.

BBC will happily accept Red material for programmes supplied by independent production companies. We shot a BBC doc last year that was shot on our Red and delivered in SD on digibeta and they were delighted with the quality. There are however restrictions on use of the Red for internal BBC productions and this is 100% down to post production concerns.

The BBC still doesnt officially accept RED footage under their HD standards.

Not correct, the requirement for RED acquired material is for the post process to be pre-approved for HD delivery to the BBC.

And if you are working with the BBC on a HD delivery you will know who to talk to.

Nothing too scary they just want things done right.

Thats the back of my head....and that is a Red battery on a Varicam. We were on a extended backcountry shoot so I brought my Red batteries along with the Dionics that came with the kit. The Red batteries ended outperforming the Anton-Bauer Dionics. There is a bit of Red footage in this series...look for 120fps shots of thermals/water. The aerials are HDCAM, everything else is Varicam.

Some beautiful shots John, the seeds floating on the breeze were particularly memorable.

I watched this 2-hour BBC Yellowstone special last night on Animal Planet HD. It was very well done indeed - excellent cinematography (including via CineFlex), very good script, editing, direction, and narration.

They obviously had a sizable budget, and a quality crew for the production - and it showed. Excellent work...
