Hi all,

Something odd - when running off of batteries, our camera shows that it's on DC power. Everything works fine and it's not a huge deal, except without the % countdown on battery life, it's only a matter of time before I blow a shot due to a battery dying....

We just got our RED one back from repair (it wouldn't boot and needed a new power supply) - so it has a new power supply. They also updated the firmware while they were at it.

I'm guessing it's something with the new power supply or firmware, but maybe I'm just missing something....?

I've only ever seen this using 3rd party batteries - if it's happening with RED bricks then I think your best bet would be to email support and see if they can help you out.

Low Voltage

Low Voltage

I have the bebob rouge hot swap adapter and when I pull the battery off, before i get the new batt on, i get the DC reading. I'm going to assume the reading is from "low" voltage going to camera.

Interesting... seen exactly the same myself a couple of times recently. Contacts are a good bet; problem vanished when I changed batteries.

I have this problem as well. Same thing happens with multiple battery plates, all which work properly on different R1 bodies. The body in question is way out of warranty, I'd imagine it's an internal fuse or something.

I just got the same problem and really can not afford to send it in at the moment so I am checking the battery level after each shot. Does anyone know how much it cost to repair?

i seem to recall it being $750-$1000 or somethin' like that.
pressing the button on the side of the battery to check the level works decently if you're hurtin'
