  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

battery hot swap adapter

Can I mount it directly on an ET 15mm Top Mount or RED 19mm Universal Mount?
Or do I need to use something like the ET Aluminum Battery Interface?

I don't have a cradle or quickplate.

The ML-120 weights 520g, but including the V-Mount plate and the lemo cable it replaces. Under the line it ads around 300g only to the weight of the camera

It has exactly the same dimensions as a v-Mount plate. it is only deeper (26mm). It fixes with the same 4 screw holes as a V-Mount plate fixes. In consquence, you can mount it anywhere where a V-Mount battery plate fits. Does it answer your question?

So it uses standard V-mount four screws on the inner section of the mount as opposed to the six screws along the sides that the RED mount proprietarily uses? That will marry to the cradle and the quickplate since they have the holes for this, but will not fit the RED belt clip and the special ET accessory plate is also necessary.

This sounds like an awesome solution. Does it also maintain power to any accessories connected to the plate's D-tap? Doesn't make sense if it doesn't.

Any chance you can post larger images from each side of the adapter?

Also - I can't seem to order online?

:iagree:

on all points.

Need to run VFS ff off the D-tap.

I saw the post for this product and thought i'd add that there are some other options out there as well such as the switronix hot-swapable battery adapter....although the ml120 seems to have it's own battery built in and allows for a quick swap, i like the extended 2hour shoot time with the switronix to allow me to have two red batts at one time. I see where the ml120 is more desirable for handheld shooting and you don't want another red brick on the camera though. As i am usually on a tripod with the switronix and two red bricks doing time-lapse and able to swap one battery out while not powering down the camera as well. and the price is only $295 usd

I see that the pictures posted on the website shows the ML-120 mounted on a Red Cradle, but I don't see the cable that's connected to the Cradle. What happens to it since the ML-120 has its own?

I would also like to know how to purchase this. I don't see any way to do it through the website.

I will check this shortly and come back on you

Hi Pierre, your product does indeed sound great - just a word of warning with your company name though, I seem to remember a while ago Red warning people off using the word "Red" in their company name

Hes in germany.. dont trademark rights dissolve in other countries?

aka.. us trademark wont hold much water in a different country?

Not too sure...after all aren't RED in the process of legal fisticuffs with LG over the use of "Scarlet" (LG are Korean I think)...come to think of it, I haven't seen a Scarlet tv for a long time so I'm assuming Red won that little tussle :nads:

Not intending to argue with RED in any way, we changed the brand.
My account is now Pierre Boudard and not redline anymore
The brand is bebob-rouge
the site is www.bebob-rouge.com

what.. you meant this?
http://www.lge.com/us/SCARLET/

its already on the market.. it didnt lose anything

Yes [huge yawn] I know it's already on the market, I've seen them first hand - what I meant is I haven't seen any around for a while (this may alternatively be because they're not very good?) - the fact of the matter is it's still an on-going legal case (which Jannard said could be just "the tip of the iceberg") - this one could run & run......:boxing_smiley:
