Hi!
I heard from someone I know who owns an EPIC, that REDVOLT will last 25 minutes approximately.
Anyone concerned about that?
It's sucks to change batteries every 25 minutes or so.

I'm thinking of a V-Mount Quickplate.

What is the best Kit?

I think you need RED quickplate, 2 Power Cable to be safe if one breaks, and maybe the Universal mount to mount the Quickplate.

How long will last a V-Mount on Scarlett or Epic?... can't say? maybe 2 hours?

I saw on BH the Endura Elite batteries... sounds like they are the best.... any other options? Cost-Effective... What about Charging?
Which is the best Charger? 2-4 Charging at the same time sounds best!!!

Thanks!!!!

I did hear that the batteries should last more like 35-40 min on the Scarlet (it runs less hot and consumes less power than the more processor-intensive Epic). Still not a lot of run time though - you'd need like 6 redvolts and 2 single chargers to keep a whole day going...might be worth it for the weight savings though over an Anton Bauer or Vmount

Redvolts do indeed last between 25 and 30 minutes in my experience. I have 8 in a kit (taking up less space than two v lock bricks) and have a couple of extra travel chargers. As soon as is practical burnt batteries go back on charge... I had two long days of shooting end of last week with this arrangement and ended each day with 5 batteries hot and ready to go. SUre you have to change them every so often, but I rapidly found that (in my mini-crew environment) if I didn't mention I was changing batteries, no-one even noticed. A change and power up is done in 15 seconds.

Thanx John for that. As I regularly work similar to the above Im just wondering re-charge times on the Redvolts or does anyone else know for that matter.

My redvolts appear to charge around 1/2C ie. 2hrs to full capacity. Its also worth noting that they are protected from 'hot' recharging which could be damaging to this kind of lithium cell. The downside is that there's no automatic reset to that protection, so a battery that the charger has refused to charge needs to be removed and replaced to trigger charging. It would be nice if the charger re-checked the status periodically, as often I'll throw a battery on the charger in a moment's downtime and not have time to hang out and check what's happening.

So John, since the startup takes 15 seconds, 8 to 10 batteries seems pretty good? You say it takes 2hrs to fully charge it?
So it may be more useful to have say... 4 chargers, 10 batteries?
What do you think is the best ratio?

Cause buying 4 good V-Mounts + Quickplate, etc... + 4 slots charger is about 5000$...

John thank you very much for the stats . Can now extrapolate whats going to work over a day. Sounds like 6 to 8 could be the magic number plus a couple of travel chargers . Of course this would all fall apart if your on a location with no power...mmm maybe a power inverter could substitute.

Can't we just use the AC adapter when in doors and use the Redvolts only when filming outdoors?
