I am looking at power options that better suit my needs than Redvolts or Redbricks. I have located third party V-Mount batteries designed specifically for RED camera. I may not want to use the RED V-Mount plates, however. (before i get any flak over third party battery options, I have researched and seen excellent reviews of these batteries and their function with RED. I want to use my money for RED storage, not their batteries). :wink5:
What I want to know, is whether battery data which is definitely provided by these batteries when going onto a RED plate, will also provide that data if connected through the XLR to Lemo adapter, available through RED or a third party vendor. Will the 4-pin xlr power cable adapter still provide the voltage data from the compatible battery to the camera?

If Scarlet reports voltage not % from external power, do you even need special plates/batteries or can it measure voltage from any power source without needing a special data connection?
