I know these questions get asked a lot here, but I didn't find these exact questions.

I'm thinking of buying this V-Mount GMP charger
http://www.globalmediapro.com/dp/A00UX3/Globalmediapro-SCA2S-2-channel-Charger-AC-Adaptor/

can this safely be used as a power adapter for the Red One MX ? because people usually buy a Red AC power adapter even if they have this charger.
From that webpage: "Item Includes - XLR4 DC Power Cable"
Is this cable good ? I just connect this cable from the DC OUT of the charger to the camera ?

The GMP V-Mount battery shows charge information on the Red screen. But some people here recommend Anton Bauer type batteries. But these batteries have only 3 connectors. So I'm guessing these don't show charge information on the screen ?
Thanks

I dont know anything about AB batteries, so I'll let someone else answer that.

I do know that the Charger will definitely power the camera through it's XLR4 DC port, but you'll need a specific cable: A lemo connector on one end and XLR4 DC on the other. The lemo is what connects to the RED. Also keep in mind that while powering the camera through the charger, the charger unit itself will kick on a rather loud fan for cooling itself down. So you'll have to deal with the extra noise or get a long enough cable that you can place the charger unit far enough away from your audio source.

Lastly, you should know that you can only use the charger as an AC adapter if it's plugged into the wall--not with batteries. In other words, you will still need a separate battery plate if you want to go mobile. Make sense?

Make sure any power cable used with the Red One is correctly wired - the positive and ground of the power supply needs to be connected to TWO pairs of the 6pin Lemo to avoid the camera being damaged. Look up the pin-outs in the Red One Operation manual page 138.

Thank you. All clear now. Because of a loud fan, a dedicated Power AC is a good idea.

And about the power cable, how will I know if it's correctly wired ? Does anyone know if the "XLR4 DC Power Cable" included with the GMP charger is good and proper for powering the Red ?
