  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Batch update Redcine-X RMD adjustments in Adobe Premiere Pro

No worries. After about 10 minutes I figured something wasn't right. For what it's worth, it's a few hundred 5K R3Ds. I look forward to the update, and thanks for such a useful tool.

Hi Justin, sent you a private message. I'm on location for a film shoot so I won't be able to issue a bug fix for another week or two once I troubleshoot your Premiere project.

Hello Angelo, your program Utility doesn't seem to work on my Mac either. I'm running 10.6.8. The status bar shows full capacity.

I'm running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5, and it keeps crashing on me. About an 8 minute documentary style sequence. Keeps giving me this error:

Cool idea though, if it worked it'd be a lifesaver. Thanks for developing this since Adobe won't/hasn't yet.

Hi Andrew,

I spoke with Justin and his issue was with Redcine-X so we got that straightened out. Yours seems to be more related to how my program processes Premiere's save file. I sent you a private message with my email so I can look into issuing a bug fix.

This is a bump, just released version 0.9.4 which corrects an issue caused by items dynamically linked into the project. This might affect quite a number of you all, so it's worth grabbing.

I'm so disappointed this isn't an official feature after a year of people requesting.

Hey Andrew,

I've been playing with both the Fallen Empire app and your work around. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not getting the RMD to update. I'd guess I'm not saving the RMD properly in RCX?

Anyways, as and example, I'll open the same clip in RCX make my changes and quit the program. When I go back to Premiere and I try any of the methods to reload the RMD nothing happens. Am not saving the RMD to the right folder or something?

Hi Ross,

Any adjustments beyond what the camera initially recorded will be automatically saved by Redcine-X as a .RMD sidecar file placed next to the .R3D clips. This is, at least, the default behavior; you can turn off auto-safe and set a master RMD directory.

Premiere and it's implementation of the RED SDK will not notice a "master RMD directory" (I don't believe there is a buried setting). This is a bummer if you strictly create DMG disk images from card backups or need pristine accountability.

Premiere will read an RMD file next to the R3D file.

**Edit** If you change the autosave setting or master directory setting, I believe you need to restart RCX for it to kick in.

So my Premier cc 2014 is NOT updating the RMD files. Not even after using your utils. Need help!

Hi there, i'm having the same issue. The Red files are all loaded correctly, but the RMD files will not import.
I also tried going through Source Settings > Load RMD, and it still does doesn't work.

Does anyone have a solution around this?
thank you in advance.

Hi, I'm pretty sure i doesn't work because the project was made with a previous version of Premiere.
I solved this starting from scratches a project from the latest version of Premiere.

Oh and I tried to import the project in AE and export it back to a new PR project but it won't work, starting over I think it's really the only option. s
