  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm interested in shooting some 4 or 5K "HFR" footage. I've seen the article on Red.com. I'm curious... is this just a change in the timebase? Would I choose 59.94 as a time base for 60 fps footage? (same for 48?)

Or is this a 23.98 time base and then shoot at 60fps?

I'm also curious... if I shoot at a time base of 59.94, is it possible to acquire sync sound?

If any one has tried this and is willing to share their experiences, I'd be appreciative.

Thanks,

Curt

Thanks Paul!

I did just that... I shot some stuff in the house... it looked right, but honestly I thought "It can't be this simple... it just can't be!"

I guess it is!

Thanks again. Much obliged.

The hard part comes in editing. It's a lot more hard-ware intensive on the computer side of things, and software (Premiere, Avid, Resolve, etc, etc) aren't necessarily set up to edit in HFR yet.

But at least recording the stuff is easy.
