  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Basic rules of exposure

I'd still shoot film every time if i could though,eh chuck?

Hey Bob,

I don't make movies but I'm also not a film elitist. I've been hearing for thirty years that film is dead but it seems to hang in there. New cameras like the RED1 and the Arri D20 are pushing the line of film quality and will equal it if they don't already. But I still like taking a 4x5 with a few sheets of Ilford and going to the lake early or late in the day. But then again if I had a 25k Leaf 4x5 back and a giant computer mayby I would think otherwise. lol

I have a RED, but i still got my Aaton prod and Moviecam super america, i am having the moviecam converted to 2 perf technovision...22 mins on 1000ft, makes film viable for me again. Don't get me wrong, i love my RED it's a great tool, but film is..well, film is film. I just found out Arri sold there first D21 ( that i know of) to a company in asia, they told me when i was up there in april that they would not sell the D21's that they were for rental only?...so Arri are thinking again after seeing the way the RED has sold.

Yeah friends in L.A. said Arri wasn't planning on sell their new video camera. Something about being in bed with Panavision. Such a whoreish industry. LOL
