Basic Questions

Hi

I hope this is the correct forum. I've spent some time searching...but?
I just recieved Red #213 on Friday. Yesterday was spent unpacking (I documented it all and hope to post those stills soon) and trying different configs. I will say everything seems top notch and quite solid.
So I shot some test stuff late last night. Copied EVERYTHING over to my "Quad (Power PC) G5 Mac" (My new mac pro has not arrived yet.) I updated Quictime and downloaded and installed the QT Codec form RED. The QT clips are just white. No image, They play, the playhead moves, but no image.
I went back to the camera and was able to playback on the camera, so the clips are on the card.

Any thoughts?

asfaik intel is the key word for post

If your system is not an INTEL MAC, then I do not believe it will work.

Since I'm on intel, I can't verify, but Mike Curtis did post once that there are workarounds for G5. See his post here.

Thanks to all you guys for trying to help!
Just to verify...I am NOT trying to edit or view in FCP. I just want to watch the proxy clips in QT. They are white while trying to view in QT.

asfaik if you have shot 4k@16:9, you cant watch the proxys in quicktime
