Hey everyone!

I recently had the opportunity to direct a promotion video for Bar Nine in Culver City, CA.

I know this isn't a big feature film but for those interested I've included some behind the scenes info and photos.

We shot on my Scarlet X and rented two Ziess CP2 lenses. 35mm and 85mm. I also borrowed some canon L glass. A wide and a macro (sorry I forget what they were exactly). Made pretty good use of a Dana Dolly. Since I new I would be doing all the camera operating ahead of time, I planned out all the shots in the Shotlister app ahead of time. Each shot had a detailed description with a screenshot from the artemis viewfinder app. This allowed me to go from one shot to another without having to put too much thought into it. I wouldn't have been able to do this project if I had spent hours and hours walking around the shop with my iphone and artemis planning each shot out weeks before we shot. Everything except slow motion was shot in 4k with a 3891 x 1622 extraction.

Post production took a while. I used Premiere CC for the editing. After effects CC for shot stabilization and other VFX such as painting out things that made the shot dirty. I used Neat video for noise reduction on some shots. And Davinci for the final color grade.

Chris Caden who recorded all audio on location also mixed the final audio you hear. He used Logic Pro X and a long list of plug ins.

Thank you so much for watching and please go check the shop out at 3515 Helms Ave, Culver City, CA 90232. Or http://www.barninela.com/

Excellent color gamma and overall looks very comfy, partly because of the sweet lenses.
