Hey guys - some more greenscreen work from directors Felix & Paul. We shot 3 different ads over the course of 2 days. Most in studio, with a little location work for the plates.

Agency: Cinelande
Directors: Felix Lajeunesse and Paul Raphael
DOP: Philippe Roy
Motion graphics + animation: Felix & Paul

Hope you guys enjoy!

Beautiful work...

Great to see - love the leaf shot.

Thanks Jim, glad you liked it. The RED's really become a winner amongst motion-graphics style directors everywhere, I haven't seen another camera on a greenscreen shoot since the RED's come into play. Can't wait to see how Scarlet and Epic up the ante.

That's great to hear!

Graeme

Graeme, on a silly side-note, I had no idea RED had an Ottawa branch. Or do you work independently for RED from Ottawa? I was born and raised there myself. Went to St. Pat's unfortunately - dunno how I ended up in cinema going to that school.

Just me working away quietly, in secret on stuff :-)

Graeme

Very cool!

And wow... all that in a 5mb file too!!!

Shooting an indie film in Ottawa right now call Section 753.2 about Richard Condo's life...

Love the city, quiet at night, but very lovely

nice work from Felix and Paul as usual...

Hey Etienne! Wow everybody's on this site, eh? Is Ivan Peloquin your AC? How's the shoot going so far?

Quiet, but that's nice really. There's some nice places in the Market though. Not as quiet as a certain capital city somewhat to the south though...

Graeme

The Heart and Crown is always nice for a summertime drink. Man I wish it was summer.

Sean, i didnt do the shoot with Ian Peloquin on the commercial that were suppose to do... but so far, the shoot i'm doing right now is going very smoothly with DP Alexandre Bussière. We rig his Steadycam with the Red and did some great works...

Graeme, the Ottawa's market is the place that i like the most in Ottawa, we have something similar in Montreal, but the one in Ottawa is really something.

Btw, we shoot some scenes at the BareFax strip club, but guess it will not be appropriate to post some pics here !

Hahahaha you went to BareFax? Awesome. Yeah the Market must be getting quite festive this time of year. Can't wait to go home for the holidays. Etienne, are you getting your camera gear from here in Montreal, or somewhere local in Ottawa? What about lighting and grip?

Very nice work. I haven't shot traditional green screen for a couple of years - been using the Reflectmedia on all my chroma key shoots. But, I'm leaving for a couple week shoot in NY that will be 100% old school green screen. I'm really hoping there has been some testing time set aside, but I don't know if there has. Are there any gotchas that I need to mindful of?

So far most of the shoots we've done with greenscreen have been pretty standard. The biggest gotchas are the usual stuff - a nice skinny shutter - personally I like to stay well north of 1/120th. If you can, try the kino chroma green bulbs - they're fantastic. Good luck!
