I'm sad to say the RED situation in St. Louis is pretty grim. The atmosphere out here is not like the larger markets. A lot of people are so competitive that they do not support one another, and back-biting is huge.

There is only one RED out here currently (Mine) and there are no professional houses or owner/ops that have one I can go to for support or a backup in case of an emergency.

I have made TONS of friends on REDUser, and 99% of you are working professionals who understand the importance of "community" and supporting each other. Sadly, that does not exist out here, in large measure anyway.

So on the chance that I may have missed a RED owner who is somewhat close to St. Louis, and wants to excersice some mutual support, PLEASE contact me. I can provide a backup in case of emergency, and I would ask you to do the same.

Hey Jay. I'd be glad to watch your back. A bit of a trek, but as long as the Cardinals behave themselves, . . .

Jay,

Fed Ex is your friend and mine ; )

I'm not close, but we have Reds, glass and accessories if you get in a pinch. We're a small two owner house with a relatively large inventory. Happy to help when needed.

I hear you on the proximity thing though . . . there's just nothing better than someone up the street or just across town.

Jay,

S/N 1880 should be coming home to mid-Missouri next month (it was fully paid for mere hours before the recent 'speed bump' in delivery was announced). Please feel free to PM me for the owner's contact information.

There's currently a pretty active RED market here in Nashville. We've got about 30 shows (mostly music videos, some commercials) under our belt since the beginning of the year with 4 bodies in shop and several seasoned Red DPs and DITs. We also just picked up Scratch-Cine and have good working relationships with several post houses in the area. I'm sure we could figure something out to lend a hand seeing as you're basically the next market over.

Hi Jay,
I'm based in Cincinnati and have 2 RED packages, a dozen Cooke primes & 2 x Cooke zooms, tons of Arri accessories, Ronford sticks, Arri gear heads, O'Connor 2575 fluid heads, over 100 P-size filters, all the shit.
As a DP/owner, I never rent my gear out but would be happy to form a mutual relationship with someone who has a need, and vice-versa.
I shot the feature APOCALYPSE AND THE BEAUTY QUEEN in your city a few years back as well as several Sci-Fi Channel pictures..please don;t hold that against me! But I have some mutal G&E friends in your market as well.
Please contact me off list & we can trade inventory lists so if the need ever arrises...:-)

Jay,

I'm in Milwaukee and have #946 pretty well equipped. Also just added a full SCRATCH system for color grade and realtime output and/or conform.

All portable, including the Scratch system.

Let me know if we can help in any way.

Jim

Don't forget Red Rocket Pictures. Our Red 1420 is now in Kansas City. We met at NAB. Tim and I will work with you.

Jay,

There is a good RED support community in Cincinnati, just a few hours away. The Camera Department (http://thecameradept.com/) owns two Red cameras for rent and local DP, Jeff Barkladge S.O.C (http://www.barklage.com/), owns another. The rest of the community here has been pretty free about sharing information on the post side. Cincinnati has a long history as a strong production and advertising agency market and has been quick to embrace new technology like the RED.

Need EVF in ST. Louis while mine gets fixed.

Need EVF in ST. Louis while mine gets fixed.

The connector on the back of my EVF has somehow worked its way loose causing a flickering. I need to provide my client with an EVF because they will be shooting for the next month.

Wanted to send it off to Red this Friday so would need an EVF on Monday and Tuesday.

Thanks

How many Reds are there in the St. Louis area
