  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Excellent. The software builds are getting code rewrites, broader RED Code support, RED One is getting siblings and RED One upgrade path. Awesome!

Right around the time Avid Media Composer 3.0 comes out, and their new range of HD hardware.

Ducks, line up over there please.

Oh Zeus, please let it be the day when Redcode is avalible to Avid.
I'm gonna edit a Red One movie this autum/winter and I really don't want to convert to Final Cut when I already am fast as hell in Avid.

Please please please, make my day!! :)

I'm also looking forward to increased PC support. I already spent a ton of cash on a 8-Core Xeon / 8GB RAM / Quadro 5600 / large RAID5 array / Bluefish I/O powered PC to run Scratch at uncompressed 2K, and it also is pretty fast with Premiere Pro, so I would like to use it to edit also. I am considering investing in a equally specified Mac Pro (basically identical on the inside to what I already have) because the FCP workflow at the moment is arguably the fastest camera to edit solution at the moment. I would rather however have as quick a solution in Premiere or Avid, and spend the money on lenses instead.

First big step for PC support would be QT Component support in Windows. That would give all Windows QT-aware applications access to RED media (in the same way that Mac applications have now).

I'm happy because we finally upgraded our Xpress Pro licenses to Media Composer today. Oh, so happy.

Does that mean we are able to edit from Avid? Maybe through references?

Is there some major improvments in Composer compared to Xpress PRO?
I'm still fooling around with 5.8 so...

way OT but funny

Excuse me Mr Jannard,
is that the kind of bad attitude you are referring to, as not deserving to be served?

the clip is named 'kicking cameras' and i'm glad they didn't use red :clown2:

hope it makes you smile
and thank you for being back

Your absence left a void. We missed you. A lot. Thanks for coming back. Hope you are feeling strong and rested. Hugs to you and the team!

DogDay.

Welcome back.. the madhouse was just not the same without you.

Jim -

Don't let the noise get under your skin. It will always be there, and most likely, it will get louder.

If people don't like what you are doing, they can buy a different camera.

I LOVE what you are doing. It has transformed our company.

I am looking so forward to rockin' Build 16 - stay off of Reduser all you want!!

I am sure there are lots of folks in meetings right now trying to figure out how to stop the RED MACHINE ...

You and I both know ... they don't stand a chance.
