I tried to do a search but got no luck (doesn't matter what I ask in the Search menu from Reduser... the results are always he same), so sorry if this has been covered before.

The issue we had today was that when we were getting the camera checked, we decided to adjust the back focus, just to be sure everything was spot on. But when we losen the bolts and began to turn de back focus ring... nothing happened!! We could turn and turn the ring with no end and no effect! After some trials we achieved to move the back focus a bit, but with no control at all.

Now, it seems like the back focus ring is out of place or something like that: like it isn't in contact with anything... and we have a camera with no back focus.

So, anyone had this kind of problem? Any advice will be really helpful!

Looks that you might have loosened the allen bolts too much and the split ring opened and disengaged the thread. Try tightening the bolts back and loosening just enough to start turning by hand. Even that it's going to be much harder to turn it will not disengage and you'll see the focus change.

Thank you very much or your advice, Jacek! You really saved my day!

By the way, is there a permanent fix for my problem or I only have the option to do it this way? (It was really hard on pushing the back focus ring, 'cuase we didn't want to loose it again...).

Sorry if it sound stupid, but I don't know how the back focus ring works. Can anyone explain it to me? You know, I'm just that kind of guy who likes to learn from his mistakes.

Sorry to bump this one up again, but it seems our problem has gone worst.

After a couple of days since we had that problem with the back focus ring, it started to appear some kind of grease through the little rubber that is between the 2 screws in the mount. Does anybody know what happened? Is that going to be a big problem?

By the way, does anybody know a permanent way to fix the "loosened" back focus ring mount?

Thanks in advance for your help or advice!
