  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BABES... at 300 frames per second!

Nice work!

The high-speed looked great, especially with the layered footage.
And the text treatment really popped on top of the B/W.

What was the editing workflow/software?

well done. Looks like 80s music beats are coming back into vogue.

In the Matthes household, they never went out of style, baby.

I'm listening to New Order "The Beach" as I type this.

Shameless A-Team, and Crazy 80's plug. :costumed-smiley-047

P.S. GREAT job Jeremy! I just bought the song on iTunes thanks to you.

Cool work. Fun video. Although that flashing text did give me a seizure. But I still liked it.

This video is INSANE. So good. The edit is also, really, really really good.

The whole thing is just so well thought out. Various setups. The bridge goes all to black. Cutaways to 300fps dancer closeups. She is on a wide-angle a lot so that she pops out of the edit. That one sliver when they walk outside is a great treat, opens up the world just enough. And then the ENTER THE VOID (nice ref Yousuf) titles blasting through across the cut gives it great symmetry and structure.

F*cking dope. Both creatively and technically, from shoot to post, this video is the BOMB.

Can't say enough...I'm going to sign off now cuz I'll just keep gushing...

I received a few private messages asking about how the video was shot, so I thought I'd post the answers here:

What lenses did you use?
I used Zeiss Superspeeds and LOMO Anamorphics for one or two shots.

It looked like you used only one or two top lights in some of those shots with the dancers?
We planned the dancing portions around 5 different lighting setups on the same (small) cyc. One of the setups was a single overhead light coming straight down and bouncing ambient back up in to the dancers faces.

What light is that shooting directly at the camera in front of the body builder chick at about 2:07?
We skinnied up a LEKO on a stand, placed directly behind the body builder and aimed directly at the camera to get those patented LOMO Squarefront Lens Flares.

Any other questions, I'd be glad to answer. Thanks for all the kind words. This video was a blast to shoot, glad it's being so well received!

Ha... apparently Jessica Alba digs it. She posted it on Facebook and Twitter.
