I purchased a B4 to PL Mount adapter from RED to use with a robotic B4 lens that we had laying around. I have tried 3 or 4 times now to back-focus this setup and still cannot get a sharp focus throughout the zoom range.
Here's what i have tried:
1. Setup a focus chart at 10 feet from the lens (also tried at 70ft, but it was too hard to tell if i was at the right spot on the lens without lens data)
2. Focus as tight as possible with the focus ring on the lens
3. Focus as tight as possible with the back-focus adjustment on the b4 lens
4. Focus as tight as possible with the back-focus adjustment on the RED ONE
I am able to get a tight, sharp focus at any focal length, but then when i zoom in or out, it goes out of focus, and if i zoom in too far, it's impossible to focus (even on a subject 70+feet away)
Is there something i'm missing, am i doing something wrong, or is this a limitation of the B4-PL mount adapter?
