  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Awesome dolly

But what do you do when you get to the end of the plywood?

You get a nice smoothe stop, then a very quick breakdown, throw it in the truck, quick set-up at the next location, quick level and pull of another shot.

I have your dolly as well, and the curved track, and the black track......It's very useful, but for picking off quick beauty shots, this 8' table dolly along with the Omni tracker is about as fast as it gets and you still keep a high production value. All you need is a beautiful location and a little forground to play the move.

Here's a shot from last week shooting beauties of Greenville, SC.

Found a cool mini/travel dolly today, the Special BMB or "Folkewagon". Cost $500 and runs on ladders. Support camera up too 100 lbs.

Not bad. The price looks very reasonable too.

Hmm... I could build something like that for a quarter of the price. It's a VERY simple design made from parts that you can buy off the shelf in any hardware store.

We will be in the NC mountains tomorrow with a crew of 3 and we will move almost as fast as we would if we were just using sticks. You can't beat this thing for quick setups and balancing. If we need to get lower, I use a full apple flipped to the desired height or sand bags.

I'm all about what works, not about the name on the dolly or the track its riding on. The funny thing is that those who would "only use" a Fisher 11 or something similar, would have a fraction of the shots we'll get tomorrow with the same production value.

Definitely would only get a fraction of the shots, but how are you booming up and down with this rig?
