Hi to all! In the project settings what should I choose? ycbcr709 or rgb 709? Thanks!

it really depends on several other factors. namely acquisition and deliverable. I know the capture tool will only encode certain codecs under one vs the other, so for my workflows that was the determining factor.

Choosing the RGB project setting will allow effects and color corrections to be rendered as 4:4:4. If you are delivering 4:2:2, then it's harder to argue that rendering effects and CC as 4:4:4 is beneficial to the final delivery.

Hope that helps.

Also, your storage needs increase as 444 is 350 data rate while 422 is 175/185 data rate for 10 bit for 422.

Can I export my ProRes 4:2:2 to DNxHD 4:4:4? Or is it useless?

You could. But will whoever you're giving the file to even be able to play a DNxHD 4:4:4 QT file? They'll need the Avid codecs installed on their computer and a fast enough drive to be able to play the file. As for if there is a quality improvement "uprezing" from 4:2:2 to 4:4:4, it's somewhat of an open ?, but I've found 4:4:4 exports to look better than 4:2:2 ones. I also think this may have to with how video cards and monitors process 4:2:2. I find 4:4:4 to look more uniform across displays, however unscientific and anecdotal that might be.
