  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Avid Media Composer 6

That's a great deal Chris. Only a little more than the FCP crossgrade which not everyone can take advantage of, so if someone has been looking to get a hold of MC 6 at a discount, jump on this. MC 6 has been working very well and combined with Adobe Production Suite and Davinci Resolve makes quite a powerful package. The good news about MC 6 is that this is just the first pass at 64-bit. It's going to get even better, and utilize more resources and will be blazing fast by 6.5.

Also, for those who don't know, MC 6 comes with Avid FX which is basically Boris Continuum, Boris Film Effects, Boris RED combined. Not a bad thing to have in the toolkit.

Sorry for the sales pitch, but might help some people on the fence.

Yes, and the nice thing is you can set up some workflows that allow you to ingest the R3Ds via AMA for quick logging and such and then transcode to a less intensive editing codec like DNxHD36, and then online with the R3Ds. Very versatile system.
