Hi RED comunity! I have a new issue with my workflow...
I work in a cinema post-production company. We recived an Avid RED16 EDL , that cames with the fullnames from the RED files. When i import this EDL in Finalcut the names of the files get cutoff and i can´t relink the media. What work arround i could use? The problem is that i need to load everything in finalcut to export a XML for Crimson to later use REDCINE. The XML that avid exports i can´t load it into crimson. any ideas?
thanx

Maybe you just know it.

Thanx for the link Luca. The problem is that i really don´t know if it works. Automatic duck doesn´t have a demo/teste version. 500 dollars... i really need a confirmation to resolve my problem.

Why do not just go from Avid FilmScribe XML to cineXML to REDECINE?

Michael

Hi Michael, cineXML works the same way that Crimson ? I recived a filmscribe XML from avid, load it into cineXML output a redcine XML, load it in REDCINE and export the cut from R3D files to DPX LOG??
thanx
Luis

I am trying to use it without sucess!! The xml that the editor is exporting doesn´t work on cineXML. He is using Film Srcibe.. Has a special setup the xml export from avid to work?

automatic duck works great. I own it, and it was designed for this very issue. Its great software and solid support. I would contact them if you don't find a work around.

I think tha what he did was changing the names i of the clips in avid. Maybe when he connected with the audio files creating subclips... something like that.
Now he did it with final cut and we are on the right track again

Have the Avid editor export an AAF file, not an XML or EDL. Then use Auto Duck Pro Import FCP to import the AAF file, should work like a charm.
