Hello all. I love Avid, been on it for 18 years (man I feel old) but they always seem to lag behind what the others are doing, like Premiere with them running in 4K (right?). Granted, when Avid finally does something, they do it right.

I'm going to NAB in a couple weeks and I'm going to ask them this same question (if nobody here knows) but any word if they're going to have 4K or even 5K? The workaround is cumbersome now. I'm hoping in version 7, they finally have it.

It's sad that Avid not leading the way, but it's perhaps they don't see it as being a stable platform yet. It would be nice at the very to be able utilize the 4 or 5k files and have it generate a working proxy of our choice on the fly, then later when 4k is stable, the same timeline can revert to the 4k files for output.

Jason, the work flow is not super difficult once you get used to it.
