Hey guys.

I was wondering if anyone out there with an EPIC has done any tests using the camera with fast lenses (1.4 or so) and shooting a fiction work with available/natural light.

I personally tend to prefer the look of practically lit lighting and lighting that is more adapted than artificially created.

So I'm really excited about the possibilities of using say a 2.0 lens, ISO 1600 and shooting a lot of natural looking stuff, making production move faster, with smaller crews, etc.

Any tests or such footage out there?

Wow, it looks great.

Nice to know he got a great exposure with 3.0, makes dealing with DOF much easier.

I actually prefer completely natural looking lighting than the sort of exaggerated music video cinematography you see in a lot of films.

I shot some test footage with an Epic-M at 6400 ISO and 3200 ISO using a Canon k35 Superspeed. I had to stop that sucker down to a 2.8 and was using available light at night... Simply amazing

Mike Seymour has done some really solid 2000asa testing,
Maybe he will share his thoughts PM him.

If you can get a hold of some f1.3 super speeds... you wont have any problems with light out side.

Here some 1600 asa shots we did, low light, to be honest it was way darker than this with the human eye, we just graded it up to this.

Great work Mark, congratulations.

I'm so excited about getting my hands on an EPIC-S and experimenting with very stripped down lighting schemes.
