Hi, which tool out there creates a pull list of the flash to flash R3D files actually used in a sequence?

I am doing the grading and some VFX work on a job shot on Red, the offline is being done in London then I'm doing the grading on selects in Australia and we'll be transferring the actual used files over the internet, plus I'll get send the full FCP project.

If you use media manager on a sequence from quicktime proxies it ends up creating ProRes files, we want to automatically pull the used files only in original R3D format so we only have to transfer the files actually used in the edit.

Is there a tool which does this?

Clipfinder can do this. Even the free version can do it if you want to pull the entire duration of the R3D files used in the edit.

If you want to trim the R3Ds to consolidate the media for transferring you need to use the latest REDcineX as well. Theoretically REDcineX could import an FCP XML or an EDL, and trim the R3Ds without the need for Clipfinder. However the XML/EDL import in REDcineX is currently buggy (read I haven't actually got it to work yet) so I would still use Clipfinder as part of the process.

hi nick, ok I just bought clipfinder. Are you the developer? Any chance you can expedite sending the download link? I am doing workflow tests right now and want to get this sorted.

No I am not the developer. Hans-George Daun is. He is normally very quick at responding to people, and also helping people out who have particular needs from his software.
