A really cool setting on the camera would be to have an "auto framerate feature" so that you could tell it to stay at the highest resolution automatically for what framerate you choose, so that unless you go and force it into a lower mode, when you shoot 24 fps, it would choose 4k, 31-60 fps 3k, and anything over 60 at 2k. This would make switching frame rates a lot faster. Especially if the EVF knob could be used to scroll through frame rates.

When I DME/Camera Tech on set, I let the DP tell me what framerate we're going to, the DPs I've worked with understand that the resolution has to change in order to get that framerate. This is just a way of making the change take less time on set. And if Red took my suggestion, it would be an option that you could turn on or off. You could always choose to leave it off so that it took you longer to change frame rates.

yes yes yes yes !!! After days of fighting changeing drives and dancing in the menu for framerate changes I want this feature!!

Can you get to 120 FPS faster than you used to, or do you still have to rotate the joystick slowly forever?

I'm not sure how much has changed by way of framerate selection in B16, but I'd really love to see it change so that I can preset a Resolution and Framerate with the ABC buttons, and I'd also like to see an Auto Frame rate option like I suggested.

this is a great idea for a future build, it would save a lot of time.

good idea.. i think most of this request comes from the slow-ass response time it takes to spin the dial around to framerates..

(which we are working on.)

That is right, but it also stems from the fact that (on b15) you have to go into the system menu first, and then to the sensor menu. It would be nice if I didn't have to change resolution unless I wanted to do it the slow way :)

The A B C programming is really neat. If that function remembered the settings in that window it would be the best. Right now it brings up the window but they show the current settings as opposed to the settings when the key was memorized.
