A new option in the camera on iPhones, you click a button and it takes 3 pics in rapid succession and automatically creates HDR images.

Not for video but pretty cool nevertheless. For example, we'll all be able to use this feature to quickly visualize what a particular scene will look like in HDR.

Does anyone know of another camera or device that currently does automatic in-camera HDR photos or is this a first?

The Sony NEX mirrorless APS-C cameras do it, or at least my NEX-5 does. 3 shots in rapid succession. And it saves all 3 RAW exposures, plus a JPEG HDR composite. I've noticed a few other cameras popping up on the market over the last year that are doing this. Nothing new, it's just exposure bracketing, now automated for dummies. Your better SLR and DSLR cameras have been able to do this for years, it was just up to the photographer to combine them in post. What's happening now is that onboard processing is now good enough and fast enough to combine the multiple exposures onboard the camera.

I think the new canon 60d does also. Probably like face recognition it will be in everything soon.
