I am coming to Austin, end of December begining Janurary. I want to get a meeting going during my visit. I'll see what cool stuff I can bring with me, some film outs for sure, I would love To get not just the Red guys togeather, but the whole Austin film community, the whole of Texsas for that matter, and yes I'm a Longhorns fan. PM me if your intrested.

Lots of Austin users over on DVXuser.

I am interested, but purely as an enthusiast since I don't own a camera; Scarlet is in my budget for next year though. If I could tag along and just learn more, I'd love to.

Also, I saw a RED One on the field at the last Texas Football home game against Arkansas. Anyone know who this could have been?

Count me in, it would be great to meet up some time..

.. maybe go for a drink over at the Oasis, and watch Lake Travis vanish :crying:

Dusty - rad idea! Any chance y'all can schedule it in early September while I'm there? I wanna hang with the ATX RED boys, too. And Mr. Morgan should be around and settled by that time as well.

I'm envisioning a no holds barred air hockey tournament at Chez Sandust. An out-for-blood showdown pitting RED owner against RED owner: PL vs. Nikon mount...Build 17 vs. 20...PC vs. Mac! Not since the war between the states has brother so savagely fought brother. (we can probably even get some ring girls in bikinis if you give me enough notice) :001_tt2:

I am cool with having a Red Owners BBQ at my house. I have plenty of space and parking, plus air hockey, pool, and a post facility we can show workflow stuff. Unless everyone would prefer to go somewhere else?

I don't think early Sept will work as we will be busy on Paul's movie.

I was thinking Aug 22. What works for everyone else?

Mahalo,
Dusty

I know - I was thinking after wrap, like the 10th. I can't do the 22nd, I'll be in the middle of a shoot in Dallas. But since I'm neither an Austinite nor a RED owner, I was just hoping to be a fly on the wall and hang out so no need to try to fit my schedule.

So sorry to interrupt... Go on with the chlorophyll!

**** STOP THE PRESS **** my shoot pushed a week so I'll meet y'all on the 22nd ?

Bringing the prototype Duclos / Tokina 11-16 will not be a problem. Optically the same, a little unfinished in some minor respects, but you'll get the idea.
