Hi eerybody, and happy new year!
This is my first post...

I received my Red #5430 at the beginning of december. I'm finishing my last tests. I have a problem recording audio. First of all my firmware version is 17, v3.4.1.
When I record on Red Drive (4k, 3k or 2k) after some minutes (not more 4) the recording stops and the display shows an audio record failure. The clip isn't playable, and it shows only green. BUT if I record on CF cards (8 gb) I never had this problem...

Someone can help me?

Thanks everybody!!!

Michele

I can record audio on Raid drive (1 track, no phantom, sound device MM1 and Rode NTG3), but I have never been able to read it after (audio_fault and green screen). On the Macintosh, the sound is very good for me, but I would like to be able to control before leaving the place.
I think we are a lot of people having this trouble.

Michele,

How you are recording?

I do have RED1 #694 with an old audio board that is not good for some reasons.

But I solved that problem with M-Audio MicroTrack II.

My set up is:

Microphone:
-Rode NTG-3 condenser mic
---------------------------------------------------------
Recorder:
-Input source 1/4" TSR from mic to MicroTrack II
-Phantom power ON
-Encoder WAV
-Sample rate 48-Bits 24
-Line out to RED1
---------------------------------------------------------
RED1
-1 channel
-Phantom power 48V off

Everything works well plus you have extra recorded sound on CF card with MicroTrack-II.

Have a look and listen at those examples below:

Thanks for the replies...
I tried on Ch01 and Ch02, with the same results. Using a Sennheiser radio levalier kit. With 48v phantom off. I forget to say, recording on Red Drive sometimes THE CAMERA REBOOTS!!!

Michele,

also I'm recording on RED drive raid mostly without any problem.

maybe you should re-format drive and reset camera to default(s) and then start do your custom set up from the beginning.

Thanks, I have some important stuff on the drive... I'll backup the footages and try to reset all the gears.
