First off, I am not an audio guy by any means....so I apologize in advance. I have a Sennheiser MKE400
http://en-us.sennheiser.com/shot-gun-microphone-cameras-video-recordings-mke-400

I am trying to hook this up to the Scarlet right now with the latest firmware. What settings do I need to have it set on....balanced...unbalanced, phantom power 48..etc.

I am making a family video real quick and all my audio gear is at work (lavs, tascam, etc) ....so I went to the store and bought this real quick. Thank you in advance.
Help me please get this to work :)

If you can find a mono to stereo adapter at RadioShack, plug that inline with the Sennheiser stereo connector (mono connector has a tip and a sleeve only, not tip, ring, and sleeve). Set to unbalanced on the Red, no phantom. This has nothing to do with Sennheiser but an "unusual" configuration used by Red by selecting a 3.5mm stereo connector as a mono balanced signal. 99.99999% of other audio gear does not do this. The only other unit that I can think of that does is the Korg MR-1 DSD recorder. What's happening technically is that the signal is canceling out as what is supposed to be L and R signals appear on both the + and - signals of what was intended to be a balanced signal by Red.

Thanks. I learned about rings, tips and sleeves :) Got it working. Thank you all again.
