Audio on Epic W

Is the sound improved on Epic W compaired to the MX or the same? Could you use it with a A-box from WC? What other options is there to fullsize xlr ports but still keep it slim?

The Scarlet-W is the same - no phantom power. If you have an older A-Box, you can order the new dual XLR to single 3.5 wiring set-up and reuse the existing box. It saves about $100. I also had to order a new boom mic with battery powered this weekend

I plan to use my Sennheiser AVX system with rechargeable batteries in both units, no phantom power needed.

I think - but am not sure - that phantom power might be problematic because of the stereo connector that feeds into the DSMC2 body.

I use a Juicedlink BMC288 (BMC388 is only avail now) http://www.juicedlink.com/products/bmc388-blackmagic-cinema-camera-preamp

On the older DSMC cameras, I used Balanced output, and I could put Left-out for Input 1, and Right-out for input 2 on the camera (still mono). However, when I tried to use Balanced output, using only the Left on the new DSMC single input only, I got a really bad electric buzzing, so I had to use Unbalanced out from the BMC288, and it works great! XLR, phantom power (if needed).
