Audio level thru EVF control does not work

Hi
I just realised that I can’t control CH1 or CH2 microphone Audio level thru the EVF Control.
When I operate the wheal on the EVE the small arrows indicate that the audio level should be changed but actually it does not. The bar that shows the audio input does not change…

Has anybody a similar problem?
Is there a trick to it?

I’m on build 20.1.3 and have the new audio board installed. The CH Levels are set in the setup menu to microphone / 40db
