Ok I was sure that this error had been mentioned before but I can't find it. I'm getting an "audio fault" error occasionally when recording. I'm using a Red One M camera with build 30. When the error happens it freezes the camera up and it won't stop recording. I'm forced to reboot. Is there a known cause for this? Its just really concerned its gonna ruin an important take before long.

I had this recently using Build 30. But it was at like 3% remaining on my 320 GB RED Drive, so I assumed it was something to do with space remaining. Happened twice and each time I just pushed the record button and it stopped. Don't remember having to reboot but it was a few weeks ago and I didn't give it much thought. When I downloaded the footage, everything seemed to be fine with the images. I had sound turned off when checking the footage on the computer so I don't know if it was corrupt or not. The sound wasn't that important so I didn't check it.

We're on location having this exact problem and frantically trying to sort it out. for me it happens right when we start rolling. the camera will start dropping frames and then 10 seconds in will freeze with an "Audio_Fault".

please help...

MX/M?
Build?
Media? (disk 640/320? CF 8/16?)
Cables?
Almost full or on empty media?

Just need some more info.
Have you sent logs to RED?

For me:

M, CF 16, and it's happened at different times as far as how much space is left. The only thing that would alleviate the situation was reformatting/resetting the cf card, and then resetting the camera to original specs.

I got Audio_Error, then Internal_Error, then Media Too Slow (even though they are the same RED CF cards i've used in the past). It seems that one of my 16gb CF cards is now broken. It freezes up the camera when i put it in. Anybody ever have this happen to them?

Thanks..
Vern

Not sure what "sent logs to RED" means...

I've had issues where the audio has dropped out completely, replaced by static noise. Shooting to fresh hard-drive (640gig) Thought it may have been radio mics, then when I checked, I remembered that I used a shotgun mic direct into the camera....so..not a radio problem. Need to test more before I go hassling Red support.
