What are the possible ways of recording audio in-camera with the Epic? I've heard about the "A Box" from Wooden camera which utilizes XLR inputs to 1/4 inch. Are there other options as well? Or, is it just as simple as a XLR to 1/4" adapter?

If anyone can share their setup, it would be great. Pictures are welcome!

Thanks,

Jeremy

The option that I'm using until the Pro Module comes out is just to use XLR to TRS adapters. Keep in mind that right now the camera will only accept mic level unbalanced audio. I made my cables but your local audio store should have them.

The TRS is a little misleading since as far as I know TRS stands for Tip Ring Sleeve and while the connector does have a ring on it, it's not connected to anything.

Make sure you only feed mic level in. If you have to feed line level, I've had audio guys tell me that a 40db pad should do the trick, but I've never tried it.

The manual says they are either balanced or unbalanced. The camera says unbalanced in the menus. Ted from Red says it's restricted to unbalanced right now, but will later be selectable.
