You need to make 2 posts on the forum before you will be bumped to a usergroup that will allow you the full permissions of all the other members. Once you make a couple of posts on the forum, the software will bump you to a new usergroup.

I suggest that to be informed in the error message when trying to edit personal detalis as a new member.
