Hi Guys,

Not sure who I should specifically contact about this ...

My name is Anthony -- I am a successful direct response
copywriter who has made millions for his clients. (I can show
you samples.) I have one main client who pays the bills and
I do great -- and yet I still have some free time.

So in addition to that, I would LOVE to work with Red.

In fact, I would work for FREE!

Well, nothing in life is free. But I would do any additional
marketing/copywriting you needed on a pure performance
basis, no upfront cost at all.

If you liked what I wrote -- and more importantly -- it made
money for you, maybe you could give me camera credit (at
your discretion). You are good people, I trust you.

Why would I do this? Well, I'm also an aspiring filmmaker
and I LOVE Red. I love the products, the branding, the
mission/philosophy, the leadership, the commitment and
service to customers, and so much more.

I couldn't be any more excited about what's happening now
at Red!

What's more, I believe in what you guys do -- and I believe
Red has the chance to turn the industry upside down (and even
change the world) ... in the best possible way.

Obviously, I'm sure you have in-house writers. And you could
always hire an outside agency.

But it's not easy to find someone with the necessary marketing and
writing skills + the true belief and passion it takes to grow the company
in a way that's fully aligned with your unique vision.

I think you guys have done some profound, amazing work --
especially in terms of the company/customer culture you've created.
It reminds me a lot of Apple, in that you have such a passionate,
dedicated group of people as your customers. Your customers are
true evangelists eager to spread the word.

And now, with the Epic and Scarlet coming out ... I know you are
poised to explode on a level maybe even greater than you did with
Oakley.

So ... I'm emailing you because I think I can help. I'm not sure
exactly how -- perhaps it's writing email campaigns to promote more
accessories to existing users. Or creating additional marketing
materials for Red affiliates, in time for the Epic and Scarlet release.

I'm open to anything.

I don't know the "how" yet ... but I do know WHY.

The "why" is simple: Because you have the best products, I have the
ability, and because we have the passion and belief to make this much
needed DMSC and Digital Cinema transformation.

Jim -- you of all people know marketing is one of the most important
business skills, especially for growth. And marketing/writing talent is quite
rare. ESPECIALLY (as I mentioned earlier) talent that's aligned to your very
unique and crucial vision.

I would love to speak to the right person at Red about this. Can
someone please contact me? Just use the email account attached to
my Red user id.

Also, I'm a west coast person -- often in LA -- and so I can meet in
person as much as needed.

Please let me know.

And keep up the amazing work!

Sincerely,

Anthony Flores

Mmm..well it seems Red doesn't even do traditional camera marketing..
i.e. magazine ads and trade show booths. Actually there's really
no need to as the product is unique and sells it self.

So you're probably better off in sticking with your more
traditional advertisng dependent companies for clients.
The Motion equipment industry is in comparision small..almost more
of a large cottage industry.

Thanks ...

Thanks ...

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the response. You may be right.

However, you'd be surprised at how versatile/valuable good
copywriting and marketing is.

For instance, not every Red customer scours this board or checks
the store everyday like some of you. I'm sure Red has product
accessories in stock -- that could be sold to existing buyers with
the right marketing. That's just one example.

Also, the products "sell themselves" right now because there's much
more demand than supply. Trust me, it's taken some brilliant
"marketing" to get to this point.

And when available supply catches up to -- and perhaps even
exceeds -- the existing demand ... then marketing is what will
make up the difference.

Remember: The Epic and Red One are more "niche" products that
will rely on word of mouth, referrals, industry buzz and marketing.

But the Scarlet is a potential mass market product -- and mass
market prospects don't buy as easily as the die-hard fans on this
board. They need more convincing, more demonstrations and videos,
more benefits and reasons.

Apple products "sell themselves" to the masses -- but largely because
of brilliant copy and marketing that showcases the incredible quality
and ease of use.

I think it will be the same for Red.

Anthony

P.S. -- I already make enough money ... I don't really need "clients."
I just love Red and truly think I could help.

Probably not the best place to present my case, just don't know the
best way to contact Red and know the leaders frequent this board.

I think you did fine Anthony. Some have not because they ask not.

Agree with Michael. RED may not hire him, but it was well expressed and well written - I think he made his case and sold himself well, which of course is the prime prerequisite for the job he is trying to get.

Yes you guys got me -- I didn't write a word on that page, I don't even know who Kevin Francis is -- but that course he's referring to was written by me a few years ago. :blush5: What's the big deal?

No big deal at all. Just curious. Like I said, it sounds like your a talented guy who writes really good copy. I was backing up what you were pitching.

John
I guess if you call a google search detective work...

Thanks Eric -- I appreciate it.

No criticism, it was more directed to those who maybe thought I was the cheesy cartoon character on the blog ... so I wanted to clear that up.
