  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Attitude adjustment...

Wow look at that, RED reduced the price of the Scarlet and Epic and my Scarlet didn't lose any value to me at all ;)

Congrats Red on (as usual) playing to your customer as much as the market...

PLEASE consider reducing the price of the redrocket, for me this is the 'final piece' that makes Red the complete solution in ALL situations

My only 'awww shucks :( ' moment is that aside from buying a new Epic, theres no option for a Scarlet owner to upgrade to 5k motion - until dragon of course (hopefully that will be as similarly generous :) )

i bought Epic M and Epic X.
my Red One is still in work. it was a good invest. a very good. all 3.
I congrat all new customer, that will get this cameras for this low prizes. i don´t know a better deal right now.

the one and only question is : when will Dragon enter the stage? huge projects are waiting in 2013, i hope it will be soon.

On the subject of the monochrome brain, I assume you can use all your existing EPIC-X modular stuff with the new monochrome brain, so all you need to buy is the brain and you are good to go with epic x-monochrome!

Seems like a no-brainer to me! *groan*

This is my first post.

I own a Scarlet(#01199) since April, my first pro camera, and i couldn't be more happy with it, and is not only the camera...is how amazing working with RAW trough Redcine X can be, it has been something shocking for me in the last months. I'm young and i'm very happy to see, today, an Epic listed at 19000 $ and a ¡¡¡R1 at 4000 $!!!. This is are great times for film making. I will wait to see the upgrade paths for Scarlet, it will be great a trade possibility or an upgrade to Epic. Anyway, at 19000 $, Epic is now on my horizon...as Dragon.

Ketch, at this point it's not a matter of OR but a matter of AND for you :) you'll probably easily put the next 20K in there for the brain... Get both!

It is, because till both Organizations get all legal done, I can only spend my personal funds, which aren't as fluid right now, with most money invested in my Movie projects here in Italy and R&D for few other things in the works... ;)

He he, You know I want one... BADLY, and because of Jim's INSANE PRICE DROP Across the Camera line, this is now a clear option to consider, which I need to value against how much more useful it will be for SOLO use the Meizler, till I get Principal Photography started on my first Movie, and how long till the Dragon Upgrade.


I know I have few mind blowing personal Fashion projects going on that the Monochrome would just be perfect for it, instead of me having to use Silver FX PRO 2.0 to work on my B&W before dissaturation of all individual RGB channels.

He he, yes Patrick, but I am also getting Master Prime glass, so for now needs to be one or the other, Meizler or Monochrome... ;)

Ha ha, thrut is that I have gotten NO JOKE, over 40 calls, PM's and emails form new want to be RED camera owners, Jim really did tree a big rock on that POND and steered those waters in a pretty BIG way ... ;)

And of corse I am no different, how can you not consider buying an other Camera at this ridiculously affordable LOW prices?!?

Hey, for what its worth, earlier in the week I was totally nervous, and it turned out to be totally unwarranted once I used my arithmetic and critical reading skills (/opened my lazy concerned mouth and had everyone put me back in a good place).

Now I'm back to being totally stoked.

More than happy for the adjustment, and many of the early adopters, hopefully have reason to be as well. because...

You guys didn't release a new product, you hit reset when you didn't have to and just breathed more life into products that as investments could have been reasonably monetized / returned upon already with a reasonably executed business plan. (And luck of course, not all businesses succeed, lets not forget...)

For those of us who are new adopters because we now have the money, and didn't before, or didn't have the ability to pull the trigger when the product was at a sensible point in the cycle (release), we get a chance to play the same game at a new fair buy-in level for the long tail of this product iteration, AND a reasonable stepping stone of a chance to level up when the new products do drop because that's how you guys roll.


You didn't have to lower the cost, but you did, and I think in this case it makes you mighty. Not to mention it being a hell of an interesting play for the competitive ramifications.

Anyway, thanks again for the adjustment, now I can get some sleep now that all I have to anticipate is the arrival of my camera! (or Rocket, not sure which I'm more excited for, actually, but maybe that's why I D.I.T.)

Seems like we all have been & are selfish... So WTF, i'm gonna stay selfish, not adjust my attitude & book one (if not two) Epic X...
RED has "resurrected" my career in many ways...
Running a rental house, i must have recouped my investments at least 5 times over (if not more)... whatever my investments would have been, they all paid back...
I see more opportunities for myself due to this new pricing, as i can buy at least one more camera & cater to some more filmmakers...
Thanks RED! You guys have made a difference... You've earned our Respect!

As for your "Attitude"... God Bless you for that... Stay the way you are... Need not adjust a thing!
