I am considering going with a V-mount battery system for my Scarlet instead of using RED's Quad Battery Module full of REDVOLTs. I'd like to ask what some options are for attaching V-mount battery plates (i.e. VF | Brook's APU plate, RED's Backpack QuickPlate, etc.) to rails. Photos of your rigs would be nice. :)

Also, as a side question, does anyone know what the exact power usage of Scarlet in watt-hours is?

The dsmc universal mount is what I use, available in the red store.

I plan on getting this swiss plate from Zacuto.

Have a friend who uses these for aks mounting on rails, and the build quality is very strong. You can mount just about anything you want to it.

Haven't decided which V-mount plate or batteries yet. Anyone have any recommendations?

Check Element Technica's V-Mount Speedy clamps for 15 or 19mm; I've used them for more than 3 years on my RedOnes and I'll use them for my new Epics. By the way, they have a 15% discount until 12/23...

Same here. For 15% off use the code:

I like this option because it keeps the camera balanced, you can set the battery way back for handheld, flexible for adding modules, etc.

The rails are on Wooden Camera ultimate top 15mm and the batteryplate is mounted on a ET aluminum plate and connected to a WC quick plate on a 15mm Tiny-versal via ET -V-lock..

That is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. I took your photo and selected an area in red. Could you tell me what specific components (with links, preferably) you used there? Based on your description and photo, I can only identify one piece.

- Wooden Camera Ultimate Top Mount (15mm)
- Element Technica Aluminum Plate (?)
- Wooden Camera Quick Plate (?)
- 15mm Tiny-versal (?)
- Element Technica V-lock (?)

Thank you. =)

I really like the Wooden Camera quick plate setup. I just wish there was a way to get the Redmote on the back of the camera still.

+1

In all the photos of EPIC rigs I've seen here, the V-mount batteries are almost always placed directly behind the brain. I don't really like this setup because I'd prefer to have the REDMOTE there. So that's why I'm trying to find a spot on the rods to attach the battery to.

I'm thinking that a Quad Battery Module might just be the best way to go. But, I really like having the ability to power other accessories with these V-mount batteries. So, I'm a little confused... :)

I'm literally stressed out about powering this thing.....

Any one know if Switronics L90 96wh 9amp batteries will power a scarlet?

I have a bunch of these would love to keep using them. From what i understand there are two types of brick batteries, high draw and low draw batts. Alexa a 90W camera needs High draw batteries. What does a RED Scarlet/Epic need? standard draw? High draw?

I would like to know too. I have a feeling that RED cameras are high-draw devices.

Has anyone tried Bebob Akkus batteries with an EPIC or Scarlet? I'd like to know if they'll work.

Another question: What can I use to mount a V-mount battery on rails, but having the battery lie down flat behind the brain? Similar to this, but on rails instead?: http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/3272/batterylayingflat.jpg

Exactly what i am looking for, although i have to order Scarlet-X first, this week! :)
I am using PagLok, here's a solution for Sony's F3. Wondering if this works on Scarlet when the power connector can be changed in a Lemo?
