Atomos claims they let CEO Estelle McGechie go for refusing to move to Australia, but her lawsuit paints a very different picture: a corporate culture of gender discrimination, allegations of securities fraud, accusations that the company knowingly shipped defective/inoperable equipment to boost sales figures and sexual misconduct at the workplace. According to papers filed with the Superior Court of California, Atomos allegedly shipped AtomX CAST units without any software installed, which the complaint characterizes as “for all intents and purposes, paper weights.” The filing also purports that the Neon shipped prematurely; that while it was implied that the device supported Dolby Vision, it lacked essential functionality; and that Atomos had no legal authority to use the Dolby Vision trademark.

DAMN!! they were really doing some really underhanded shit at Atomos towards Ms McGechie, their other female employes, their shareholders, their suppliers and to their customers if her complaint is true and I believe that it is.

I interviewed Estelle prior to this all going down and she had big plans for the company. Really disappointed to hear this news. With the right leadership, Atomos could do great things.
