I purchased the Atmos Shogun Inferno primarily to be used as an on-board monitor for my Movi but also to be able to have an external recorder. I was attracted to the Inferno's backlight capabilities since I frequently operate the Movi outdoors in direct sun. Unfortunately, it seems the monitor is so bright that it really is a poor indicator of exposure and the built in zebras on show highlight IRE (say 70) you set it at and everything above. So if you're zebras are set at 70, everything exposed from 70-100 has zebras on it. Has anyone else experienced these issues or do I perhaps have a faulty unit?

Cheers.

The shogun has a waveform and false color. It's highly inadvisable to set exposure by how a monitor looks. Once you get a sense for where the waveform or FC are for a given set-up then you can make a better informed evaluation of image alone but I always have waveform up when creating a set-up and setting levels using the Shogun, SmallHD or any other monitor.
