my take...
I just about finished the proto.
Transmitter powered from AB smart plate- modified.
Receiver and onboard battery module with a sunlight readable 7" monitor under 2 lbs- very nice to carry around all day.
The footprint about the size of 7" monitor.
I went to a local rental house yesterday to show it and they were blown away.
checked range inside a building goes 100ft+(about 120 or so) line of sight.
In my home goes through 3 walls(or rather around them ) 45 feet- nice.
no delay for focus pullers- crane operators- steadicam.
I also have a 10" wide screen monitor for it per request of some local ACs here in Hollywood. The realities of focus puller's job are changing apparently but that's a different story... the unit with the 10" screen weights 2 lbs- very light weight as well.
I will offer the wireless set by itself or bundled with my (DSLR) shoulder/tripod rig at a very attractive price- not sure what exactly yet.
Drawings submitted to the machine shop- shipping the wireless set in 3-4 weeks.
