LACMA tonight presented a preview screening of Wong Kar-wai's "Ashes of Time Redux" - a restored and recut version of his 1994 martial-arts film "Ashes of Time".
The film was shot by Christopher Doyle, the Redux score is by Yo-Yo Ma and all told, the film is pretty much a piece of pure, unmitigated cinematic brilliance in my humble opinion.
I was entirely ready to watch it all over again as soon as the credits rolled. If you have any chance to see it...
