  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Arthur Albert on " Better Call Saul "

That's great!

Arthur is also a Reduser and has posted here. It's great to have that input and wisdom here on Reduser.

It's an enjoyable show. The opening graphics are so early '80's VHS goofy and change every week, not sure I'm completely getting that little zany bit, but the rest of the show has both an old shoe with new look feel to it. The transition has worked well. Will be fun to see where they take all the characters in the upcoming season.

The intros esthetic is that of the commercials for Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad.

Loved this show, didn't think they could pull it off because I didn't find Saul Goodman to be really deep as a character in the original series, but they sure changed that.

I have known Arthur since our low budget feature days in the mid 80's. He is such a talent. Looking forward to catching up on the season.

Season one was awesome. It sorta filled the gaping hole left by Breaking Bad.... Kind of like a band aid over a hatchet wound... but when you're super into a show of that caliber, nothing can ever really fill that gap. Love BCS though - it's holding its own as its own series and not relying heavily on BB. Can't wait for next season!

Would love to see the show in 4K. Season One was great.
You can, on Netflix. :)

Thanks for posting the article Jarred. I started watching BCS with lowered expectations, but quickly really liked the show. Great stuff.

From what I understand, it's a Netflix original in 4K for most of the work. But in the US it aired on AMC in HD, still waiting on the 4K version on Netflix here. It's also around $35 for a 4K download of the season on Amazon Instant.

Awesome show! Great article, glad to see Albert is a Dragon believer. Loved the part about no one being able to pick the film.
Aloha

Great read! Very hopeful when you read how a reputable production utilizes the camera in an almost Indie way. (Small setup, available light etc.)

Sort of corroborates how some of us have approached shoots as low-budget operators.
