  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Well, what a waste of time this all was.

If you are not happy with the quote from AC, maybe you could look around for another custom supply-er....

Alternately, Jashunter is right on - going on current exchange rate, Australian dealers could offer deals that rival even B+H, for those buying in US dollars.

We're placing an order on Monday.

Ok. Five minutes work on the Internet and, without any favors from Miller or a dealer, I can get the 1726 package direct from an Australian dealer for US$4758. Of course you've got to add shipping and import duty to that. But remember, that's one-off, at the dealer's regular price right off their website. No calls. No having to give my name, 'phone number, inside leg measurement... before they'll tell me what the price is.
 
I am ready to buy, can you call them and see if we could get it cheaper if a few of us purchase. Also, how long would it take to ship, and return policy?
 
I was really using that as an example of where we should expect to be. A US dealer is going to need to add shipping and import duty costs too. But they should also be able to get a deal from Miller and perhaps reduce their commission a bit as was hinted at from Abel. So they should be able to get somewhere near that price and I was going to give Mitch the chance to check into this before going further as I'm in no hurry. I was only going to jump on board if the number made it worth my while.

But by all means feel free to pursue it yourself if you wish. The Australian dealer I used in the example was Video Guys. Ph: +61 3 9543 8885. www.videoguys.com.au. Their price was AUS$7949 incl. GST which is 10%. I made the assumption that we wouldn't have to pay GST, then I used yesterday's exchange rate of 0.665 to convert to US$. Your credit card company will no doubt gough a bit and add to the exchange rate but you won't be far off.
 
I'm sorry that people are dissapointed. I can assure you that we are selling these products for as little as we reasonably can. If you can find the product at a lower price then by all means buy from them. Please note that this is not a Group Buy because after repeatedly asking in this thread for responses from people there were only a handful of active takers. That hardly makes for a Group Buy.

I talked to our purchaser and he thinks we can squeeze out a few more dollars in the price. He does state that our pricing is a good chunk lower than B&H's rate.
 
In fairness to Abel, the 1741 package was a chunk cheaper than BH Photo. Unfortunately for me, I was interested in the 1726 package, which was more than BH Photo. Oh well. Can't win 'em all.
 
A group buy is not currently on the table. The special pricing is what we have negotiated with Miller.

So good news to all of you. We just had a meeting and went through the numbers again. We're cutting it down to the bone and lowering prices. This is just happening now so whatever quote you have is now inaccurate. Please contact your Sales Rep. for an adjusted quote.

We really do understand and are trying to get the best deal out there that we can do. These prices are now ALL significantly lower than B&H pricing.

Quotations from Salespeople from any vendor or manufacturer are universally regarded as private communications.

Please do not publicly post quotes that came as private communications from sales reps. If those prices are freely avaiable online, that's one thing. But posting private pricing can be very damaging to a lot of relationships you are not aware about or not a part of.

Oh Oh!, my Bad,
I wasn't aware of that.

But Abel Cine is aware of this, and I was told, "This quotation was only for Red User group buy not individual"
