Does anyone have any info on this zoom?

Thanks

Absolutely stunning lens, also the biggest, heavy (26lb), bulky (180mm) Long (443mm), breathing on this zoom is more pronounced then adverticed, but still for a zoom this size and of the Aperture Speed, it is nonetheless a fantastic lens, and I would literally shoot an entire Feature on it no hesitation, but then I'll do so even on the RED 18-85:)

The only factor now that will start pushing me away from any current PL lenses is the newly announced FF RED's as most Cine lenses will not cover such Sensors and therefore investing heavily in this type of lenses is suddenly no longer a first option.

Renting it off course is a different story (as of now this lens it is made in such limited quantities that it is not for sale) the current rental going from $500 and up depending were you rent.

Again because of the size and weight you will need massive support, when this lens was used on "Perfume" and they sure had some setting up to do before each shot, but the Director loved, and so do I, hehe.

Ciao

It's a really really really sharp and perfect lens. But it IS a bit of a beast. Fine for stage work. Tough on the ACs on a fast-moving location job.
Cheers,
Harry

Due to its weight and size, it's not very useful unless you have some very specific need for zooming. It is a beast.

Except for the fact that it gives you a very wide range of focale lengths that are the equilvent of prime lenses at that stop.

NIce example, I thought Perfume was beautifully shot. Do you know if they used it for a lot of the feature? I am interested in how this lens performs, from what I gather it is a master prime zoom, performs like a master prime....and they are only a few around. Oh and its huge.

i was reading that they had master primes, this zoom, and an angenieux 25-250, and they said that the master primes and the master zoom cut beautifully, but the angenieux did not, that it was a little soft by comparison.
