So I received my 143mm mount to swap out the old 138mm. I currently have it setup on rods. So after removing the 138 and attaching the 143 I can't seem to get the clasps to mount over the the entire ring. Not sure if they sent me the wrong set or I'm just an idiot? Anyone that has swapped backs, please chime in!

Hey Ivan. I didn't have any issues with swapping mine out. I did use those new arc pieces they include and I had to fidget with them a bit to get them into place while I attached the back clamp. Also note that the kit does require a new rod mount for the MB. I wasn't even aware but Abel added it to my order. Not sure from your message what part you'e having trouble with.

Did you get it assembled but it won't clamp on the lens or were you not able to get it all together?

We had an issue with our swap out because unbeknownst to us Arri had left out a couple tiny spacers.

When I sent iphone pictures to Mitch Gross at Abel Cine Tech he kindly offered to have it brought into their shop and they gave me the spacers off a rental unit.

I'm sure Mitch would help you out, but for some reason he has been banned from Reduser.

Yes the new arc pieces are not wide enough to grasp onto the ring. The 2 they sent me are identical to the ones that are currently used now.

Chris, they did include the new rod bracket with mine.

Ok so Mitch has saved the day once again... The half moon, tiny spacers, arc pieces, brackets, clasps (or whatever the hell you want to call them) are indeed the wrong ones and are too small. Abelcine will soon be sending me the replacement.

Do we have to protest in order to get Mitch back in here? I gotta a few Egyptian friends that will lead the way! No rocks, just some picket signs :)

BTW I love my MMB-1!

I don't know, but excluding Mitch from this forum is a enormous mistake.

When I was deciding to buy a Red, he strongly encouraged me and gave me invaluable advice on different accessories.

Besides the obvious connection with camera sales, Abel Cine Tech is a major rental source for Red here in NYC ... and Mitch is truly one of their best.

BTW Ivan ... Where are you located in Detroit? We are shooting there Thursday of next week.
